Diaspora And Nostalgia-A Multilocality Study Of Bai Xianyong' Novels

With the development of society's economy and science and technology,human migration and changes have become increasingly diverse.The original dispersants were forced to leave their hometown and cause them to be displaced,while the recent"dispersion" was not passive banishment,but more pro-active,self-consciously scattered and migratory.Studying the nostalgia problem in a discrete context is a further exploration of nostalgia as a modem consciousness.Bai Xianyong is called "a rare genius of contemporary short-story novelists" and enjoys a high reputation both at home and abroad,and he has put in the experiences and life trajectories of his life in many places into his novels,and he will complete his goal of "writing for human suffering" step by step.There are six chapters in this dissertation.The first chapter focuses on the research of the dissertation,extracts experience and information from the predecessors,and lays a foundation for the research.The last chapter is the conclusion,which is from the analysis and exploration of the first five chapters,and the extension of the conclusions,making their own discourse,and exploring contemporary literary writing styles from the perspective of honesty and truth.The second chapter of the main part of the thesis focuses on the study of diaspora historical contexts and nostalgic narratives based on discrete backgrounds.The diaspora of the West has undergone a series of changes,from big to small and turn on.China's diaspora is different from the West.The Chinese-style diaspora are closely related to politics,economy,and society.The dissertation traces back nostalgia and restores Taiwanese intellectuals study in the United States.The study of the historical background of the diaspora and nostalgia contributes to enhancing the theoretical thickness of this dissertation,which pave the way to the concrete nostalgia.The third chapter is a close reading of the dissertation.This dissertation examines the sustenance of Bai Xianyong's nostalgia from the five cities of Guilin,Nanjing,Taipei and New York and Santa Barbara,which include the people and things from constant space to transformation.Bai Xianyong hides the vicissitudes of life from the changing life and is full of consciousness of the times.Bai Xianyong wrote geographical space instead of writing geography in real terms,but explored human nature in many places.In the fourth chapter,to explore the changes in the development of Bai Xianyong's local and multi-level nostalgia,the writer's novels have different characteristics in the ever-changing life trajectory The living experience in the earth makes him more grief-stricken and caring for people and things in the region,and then integrate many The experience of the earth strives to write the suffering of the human mind.In 2017,Bai Xianyong was over eighty years old.He devoted himself to the dissemination of classical art,the Kunqu Opera,from the homesick writing to the actual action.This shows that Bai Xianyong strongly recognized the traditional culture and history of the motherland and went to the world with it.Chapter 5 explores the extension of nostalgia.There is no lack of homesick writing in contemporary literature.Many writers,especially discrete writers,have written many memories of home country and hometown.The nostalgia itself is poetic,mysterious,and vague,but the nostalgic works are involved in the commodity market and become a rather contradictory concept.Using Lionel Trilling's sincerity and authenticity to analyze the contemporary "nostalgic narrative",the authenticity's unconsciousness seems to more contradictory that art has "something useful".The question of how to reconcile and transcend literature with reality has always been asked.To explore the sincerity and authenticity of nostalgic writing and reflect on the writing posture,lay a solid foundation for the pursuit of higher and further writing goals,which is conducive to the diversification of literary development.
