Based on social constructivism,the study is mainly carried out on the interaction between teachers,students,tasks and the context in flipped classrooms,aiming to explore the following research questions: How do students learn in an interested and motivated way in flipped classrooms? What roles do teachers play to assist students learning in flipped classrooms? How does the task-list better involve students’ English Learning? What is the function and features of the context in flipped classrooms?This study is made up of five chapters.The first chapter introduces the background,significance,objectives and organization of the study.Flipped classrooms benefit students properly and effectively in assisting students learn English.The second chapter is literature review,which emphatically introduces the major theories supporting flipped classrooms---social constructivism,especially the 4pillars of the social constructivism.Combining theories with the practice of flipped classrooms home and abroad,this chapter involves the concept,characteristics and principles of flipped classrooms.In chapter three,the detailed practice of flipped classrooms in Hongqi Senior High is illustrated and described here.The advantages of learning in flipped classrooms are shown in four aspects: teachers,students,tasks and the context in terms of social constructivism.This aims to provide students with individual guide and assistance after students’ characteristics and personalities are analyzed in the form of questionnaire.Meanwhile,with the cooperative learning and teachers’ advanced and correct belief of education,students’ collaborative abilities and autonomous learning abilities are enhanced as well.In chapter four,data are analyzed and discussed.After the experiment is carried out,students’ attitude and output are analyzed in details.Meanwhile teachers and the context as well as the tasks are investigated in the form of interview,classroom observation and tests.The final part is about the conclusion of the study,which summarizes major findings of the study,the implication and limitation of the study,and puts forward some suggestionsfor future research.The study is of significance value in both theory and practice.In theory,it is emphasized in social constructivism that students construct knowledge individually and by interaction with teachers,tasks and the context in the form of flipped classrooms.In practice,in flipped classrooms,the relationship between teachers and students improved greatly,the task-list and the plat form based on “Siyecao” better realize students’ individualized learning.Accordingly,students’ autonomous learning have improved and the learning efficiency has been greatly developed.This study provides examples for our Basic Education and contributes to our Education Revolution.
