Instructional directives is a kind of classroom discourse that helps teachers complete classroom activities,manage classroom discipline and promote students’ language acquisition.Therefore,in primary school English class,reasonable and effective classroom instructional language can not only improve the teacher’s classroom teaching efficiency,but also help students to complete the learning task accurately and quickly,and also provide students with listening and speaking training,so that students can acquire the language better.This research is an empirical analysis.This paper tries to analyze descriptively of instructional detectives in 6 English classes in a key primary school in Changchun.The writer recorded,took classroom observation and interviewed with teachers to find out the answers of these two questions:(1)What are the characteristics of instructional detectives in primary school?(2)What are the influencing factors about how to use instructional detectives in primary school?It can be concluded by analyzing data and survey result:(1)In terms of language features,primary school English teachers tend to use the words“Let”and“should”;(2)Teachers mainly use simple imperative sentences in sentence structure,among which“Let”is the most frequently used sentence.(3)In terms of direct and indirect speech acts,direct instruction is used more than indirect instruction.The main influencing factors of instructional detectives are teachers factors,students factors and teaching content.Finally,according to the results of the study,the writer puts forward some suggestions for the classroom instructional detectives of primary school English teachers:(1)Teachers should make their instructional directives appropriate and consistent.(2)Teachers should make their instructional directives interactive.(3)All directives are spoken in English.(4)Teachers should make direct and indirect instructions clearly.(5)Teachers should study theoretical literacy of instructional directives.It hopes that survey results may be helpful to the English teaching practice in primary schools. |
