Women's issues in Indian countries have always been the focus of academic attention. In the course of the development of Indian history, women's status was low due to the influence of traditional ideas and Religious doctrine.During the Gandhi period,Indian women waged a series of struggles for their own equal rights and interests, and women's political, economic, and educational situations have undergone tremendous changes. The time period discussed in this paper is from the end of the 19th century to the first half of the 20th century, before the independence of India in 1947.During this period,Indian women began a real liberation, and the "non-violence"concept of Mahatma Gandhi(1869-1948),the invigorating national independence movement and the struggle of women themselves played a crucial role. But at the same time,Gandhi's contradictory view of women and the background of domestic and foreign times have made women's liberation in this period incomplete and class. This article is divided into an introduction and four parts. The first part describes the background of the Indian women's liberation struggle in Gandhi, including the origin of Indian women's issues, the changes in women's historical status, and the survival of women in the colonial period, exploring historical factors affecting women's status. The second part expands the concrete manifestation of the struggle of women in the Gandhi period.Including the content of Gandhi women's view, the relationship between Gandhi's thought and women's liberation struggle and the struggle and activities of women's struggle for rights and interests,to explore the influence of Gandhi's thought on women's liberation struggle in this period; The third part mainly discusses the specific achievements of the Indian women's liberation struggle during the Gandhi period, including changes in family, politics, economy, education, etc.,and analyzes the characteristics of the changes in women's status during this period-imbalance and class nature;the fourth part comprehensively reviews the positive impacts and shortcomings of the women's liberation struggle during the Gandhi period,Based on the feminist perspective, this paper analyzes the future development direction and solution path of Indian women's issues. This paper argues that India has been in a tragic situation in history because of its complex socio-cultural background.Since the end of the 19th century, under the impetus of Gandhi's thought and national liberation movement, the Indian women's liberation struggle has reached a climax.Women's rights in politics, economy, education and family have improved, but this kind of struggle has a certain Incomplete. The problem of women in India has a long history and involves many complicated factors. It is impossible to solve these problems overnight, but it is a long process.
