| Modern translators cannot do without translation tools,including machine translation tools and computer-aided translation tools.The YiCAT Online Translation Platform combines the functions of these two kinds of tools to help translators maximize efficiency.In using the platform to translate news reviews,the author finds that the platform's enormous translation memories,powerful pre-translation function and efficient machine translation are of great help to translators.However,the platform has functional limitations,mainly reflected in the fact that only one machine translation engine can be enabled at a time and results from only one engine can be displayed.In addition,machine translation itself has many limitations,including lexical,syntactic and coherence and cohesion problems.The author puts forward corresponding solutions to the aforementioned limitations.For functional limitations,the author puts forward suggestions to improve the platform's functions.For machine translation limitations,the author puts forward a“three-step” post-editing strategy. |
