A Study On The Phonetic System Of A’xi Dialect In The Xia Mao Shui Dong Village,Shilin,Yunnan

With 5000 years of history of civilization,our country formed in the course of continuously grope and progress among the nations of the world based multi-ethnic state for more than a language,language variety within the territory of the complex.As a minority language with a complex and diverse dialect system,Yi language belongs to the Yi branch of the Sino Tibetan language family.Based on the previous studies,the modern Yi language can be divided into northern,eastern,southern,western,central and southeast dialects,which contains 5 sub dialects and 25 kinds of contemporary Yi dialects.This demonstrates the diversity and complexity of contemporary Yi language.The southeast dialect of Yi language can be further divided into Sani,A’Xi and A’Zhe dialects.This paper aims to study one of the southeastern dialects-the A’Xi dialect.According to the previous research,the research on the A’Xi dialect especially in the Xia Mao Shui Dong village,Lu Fu Street,Yunnan Shilin Yi Autonomous County is relatively weak.The thesis is divided into three chapters.Chapter one is the introduction which includes four parts.Part one introduces the reasons and significance of the research.is discussed;Part two is the literature review of the research achievements at home and abroad;Part three explains research methods applied and the basic situation of the native speakers.Part four introduces the main contents of the research.Chapter two discusses the distribution of the Yi people and A’Xi Yi family.Chapter three is the main part of this paper which can be divided into four parts.It analyzes consonants,vowels,tones and syllables in the A’Xi dialect and sums up their respective characteristics.The consonant system of Yunnan Shilin is relatively developed.There is a total of 46 consonants,including 5 initial consonants.In terms of vowels,it has 18 monophthongs,which involves vowel elastic opposition,but it is not one-to-one,diphthong as main vowels appears in Chinese loanwords,but rarely in the dialect system itself;In terms of tones,the A’Xi dialect has 3 tones: medium flat tone 44,low flat tone 22 and low falling tone 21.
