Chick Flick is an emerging sub-type of female cinema in the context of "her economic" era. There are three types of masculinities in the male characters of this kind of film: hegemonic masculinity, dependent masculinity and marginal masculinity.Authority, feminineness, and homosexuality are the typical characteristics of these three types of masculinity. How do women audiences view different types and characteristics of masculinity? How to get a viewing experience from it?This study used a focus group method to collect empirical information about female audiences. In the coding of data texts, this study focuses on the analysis of reference expressions and the three variables they contain: value positions, reference objects, and expression methods.Through data encoding and analysis,it has been found that female viewers are an adoring and joking attitude towards male figures who are hegemonic in the film;for male characters with feminine temperament,it is not only easy to bring themselves into the imagined emotional relationship, but also to maintain The critical attitude toward such male figures is focused on the aesthetics of the appearance of male homosexuality, while maintaining its attitude towards sexual acceptance or value neutrality. Therefore, worship and joking, imagination and criticism, aesthetics and acceptance have become a source of feminine viewers. However, behind the pleasure does not mean that women get the dominant position of gender in politics, but a kind of “consumer subject” of the logic of commercial capital.Women’s self-consciousness awakens but does not break through the shackles of patriarchal social norms."The main body" is also the "negotiated main body" in the modern society after consultations between women and the patriarchal.
