English writing is the advanced stage of English language learning,it is an important way of language output and an important expression of language comprehensive ability.The New Curriculum Standard of Senior English in 2011 and the New Syllabus of the College Entrance Examination in 2011 explicitly expound multiple objects in the teaching of writing and basic writing abilities that all of high school graduates need.However,the current teaching of writing is not optimistic and many tough problems are to be handled with,such as single teaching model of writing,lower interest of writing and the others.In recent years,the Concept Maps' Teaching of Writing has gained extensive attention from a large number of scholars both at home and abroad and been introduced into English classes in senior high school to explore its potential teaching function.Through the literature method,test method,text analysis and questionnaire survey method,the author takes senior high school students in Shihezi city as the research subject and uses a series of pretests and posttests.The reserach lasts 14 weeks,trying to explore the effect of the Concept Maps' Teaching of Writing in the high school English class,mainly from three dimensions covering the writing performance,writing text structures ability and writing attitudes.It is concluded that the implementation of Concept Maps' Teaching of Writing is feasible and effective.The details are as follows: 1)The mean value of students' overall performance in writing before and after is 14.67 and 16.46 respectively and that of the post-test improves12.2%;The number of writings in the fifth(very good)and the fourth(good)increases by 3%and 26% respectively while the number in the third(appropriate)and the second(worse)decreases by 50% and 100 % respectively,so the overall level of writing is improved;And67% of the participants' scores in the post-test have improved,especially in the middle and lower levels of English learning;2)All of the participants can clearly point out the writing core,96% are aware of the writing logic,59% can enrich the contents,so the overall awareness of writing text structures becomes stronger;3)The overall satisfication on Concept Maps' Teaching of Writing is at an upper middle level,because it can reduce the difficulty of writing,stimulate writing writing interest,improve writing confidence and writing skills and abilities have also been tempered and improved.Besides,two shortcomings of Concept Maps' Teaching of Writing is found: 1)It has no obvious effect on the subjects whose English learning level is in the upper and even has interference effect.2)It is of little use to achieve the content integrity of the writing text.
