| The source texts in this project are related to cardiovascular diseases from Heart category of the British Medical Journal,which is a world-class medical journal with an impact factor of 20.7(June 2017).The three source texts are Cardiovascular risk assessment and treatment in chronic inflammatory disorders in primary care,Trends in the epidemiology of cardiovascular disease in the UK,and Long-term outcome of elderly patients with severe aortic stenosis as a function of treatment modality,including two original clinical research articles and a review,published in the last three years.They all belong to clinical research,presenting problems in cardiovascular diseases prevention,epidemiology trends and clinical outcome of treatments.After adequate text analysis,the translator conducted pre-translation preparations,which include preparation for special terms/ jargon/ proper nouns,analysis of key and difficult points during translation and preparation for translation tools.The translator translated the three papers and revised the translated texts.Then,the translator selected some typical sentences for case study to discuss the use of translation skills.These cases were classified according to the translation skills.At last,the translator summarized experience of lessons and suggestions for further medical translation study and practice. |
