There is a circle of green necklace on earth,which is called selva.Selva is rich in forest vegetation of abundant plant species.They are composed of complicated species layers,among which various kinds of species grow to form diversified fascicular physiognomy and prodigious life presentation.The particular landscapes including “unique tree as wood”,“aerial root”,“sky garden”,etc.in rainforest attract a lots of painters into the rainforest to draw or paint.While Chinese paintings has already formed a set of complete system due to long-term development.The main drawing and painting objects for early flower-bird painters generally contain the environment where they live,or garden landscape,or scene out of window,therefore their works are limited by regions.In about 1970 s,the regional limitation was broken due to development of traffic,a lot of flower-bird painters went into selva for long-term material taking and painting;the painters were inspired by and provided with source power by diversified ecosystem rich in layers caused by special nature environment of selva.The essence of traditional painting was retained in works by these painters,accompanied by some changes,including innovations in aspects of composition forms,color application,space treatment,as well as ink application.As more and more painters go into selva for taking materials,the influence of regional characteristics also starts to be emphasized by painters;and with constant development of creation forms of flower-and-bird paintings,more and more researches on regional characteristics are conducted.The article discusses the special vegetation growing layers in selva to investigate the inspiration of composition forms,color application and space forging for flower-and-bird paintings,and compares with traditional flower-and-bird paintings,so as to demonstrate the characteristics of regional flower-and-bird paintings.In order to get the first-hand material,the author has the special intention of going to Mengla Botanical Garden in Xishuangbanna for field visit and painting for about a month by myself,then the author was greatly inspired.After the author went to Menglun Chinese Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden in Xishuangbanna for field visit and painting,the author's passion of research on flower-and-bird paintings of selva was inspired.I hope to combine the research on predecessor's works and articles with my painting creations in selva to find out the characteristics of regional flower-and-bird paintings.Although each painter has different expression languages in creating painting due to subjective consciousness,I hope to find out the language expression of their perceptual feeling in the special environment of selva,so as to find out the creation pointcut on selva applicable for self application.The first chapter of the article is to introduce the basic situations of selva which serves as starting point,and to briefly discuss special species layers of selva on inspiration of creation of flower-and-bird paintings.The chapter illustrates forming reason and development of flower-and-bird paintings,and combines with the special natural environment and biology species of selva to illustrate the importance of selva materials in creation of flower-and-bird paintings.The second chapter is to compare with traditional flower-and-bird paintings in aspects of composition forms,color application and space forging to demonstrate the similarity and difference of flower-and-bird paintings of selva materials and traditional flower-and-bird paintings.The chapter investigates painting language with regional characteristics for flower-and-bird paintings of selva materials based on traditional flower-and-bird paintings.First of all,the chapter extends analysis on the composition forms of traditional flower-and-bird paintings to research on inheritance and innovation of flower-and-bird paintings of selva materials.Painters apply theoretical knowledge of plane composition to creation of flower-and-bird paintings of selva materials,thus the new expression form was formed.Secondly,the author starts from color language of traditional flower-and-bird paintings to focus on research on innovative color language of paintings of selva plant materials under the influence of color language of western paintings.And the chapter specifically analyzes creation works of flower-and-bird paintings of selva materials to further demonstrate painting language of flower-and-bird painting system of selva material.And the chapter analyzes the works by Liu Yitao,Jin Hongjun based on tradition,and the works of typical painters who specialize in meticulous flowers-and-birds painting of selva materials,including Yao Shunxi,Lin Ruoxi,et al.who focus on innovation,so as to hope to find out balance point between tradition and innovation by analyzing and researching the compositions,colors,ink expression of their works,which will inspire my own future creation.The third chapter shows the techniques and self reflection on the problems encountered during the period of creation of flower-and-bird paintings of selva materials by the author's field visit and painting in Xishuangbanna.
