| The combination of language and culture in the context of internationalization is an inherent requirement for the cultivation of English majors in China.Cross-cultural communicative competence is an important component of the cultivation of composite talents in foreign language majors.In fact,the cultivation of cross-cultural communicative competence of English majors is an important part of the syllabus objectives of the oral English class.The teaching effect of the oral class directly affects the cultivation of cross-cultural communicative competence of learners.However,current oral language classroom teaching emphasizes language,including pronunciation,grammar,meaning of words,and language input,neglecting the cultivation of cross-cultural communicative competence of English majors.Particularly suitable English oral classroom teaching strategies directly affect the overall improvement of students’ intercultural communicative competence.Therefore,this article focuses on the English speaking classroom teaching strategies.Through the qualitative analysis of spoken English teaching strategies,we discuss how to better develop students’ intercultural communicative competence in the context of spoken language classrooms.At the same time,the current college English oral classroom teaching is mostly undertaken by foreign teachers.Its cross-cultural professional identity of teachers and the corresponding cross-cultural teaching strategies of the spoken English classroom are based on this.This paper focuses on the foreign teaching oral classroom and carries out teaching strategies.The study aims to better cultivate the cross-cultural communication abilities of English majors and the effectiveness of teaching in the oral classroom.This research is based on cross-cultural communication perspective,through the observation method,case method and interview method,the English teachers of Xi’an International Studies University have a qualitative discussion on the oral teaching of 5foreign teachers.Qualitative research shows that some foreign teachers actively guide students to pay attention to politics and improve the sensitivity to media information at the teaching subject and content level;pay attention to the development of non-language ability and create more cross-cultures for students through multiple identities of organizers,supervisors and participants in teaching activities at the level of teaching objectives;use flexible teaching strategies to achieve high-frequency interactions with students at the teaching method level;focus on the integration of teaching media and classroom use;and use of information technology tools and cross-cultural communicative competence in the creation of the environment on the use of teaching tools.Based on this,this study believes that the following points should be noted for improving the suitability of teaching strategies: foreign teachers should broaden their English teaching ideas.The theme selection should have an international outlook;enrich classroom discussions and open and closed styles;combine teaching and practice of cultural knowledge,and tap into the deep meaning of vocabulary;Contrasting teaching between Chinese and Western cultures;improving the teachers’ comprehensive communicative quality in cross-cultural communication;re-defining the positioning of oral language courses;strengthening the formation assessment of cross-cultural communication and focusing on reflective classroom teaching. |
