The outdoor reality show is not only a kind of popular entertainment program in China, but also a special type of conversation.Based on the conversation analysis theory of American sociologists Sacks and Schegloff, this paper discusses the conversational structure of outdoor reality show through a large number of corpus analysis, and illustrates its semi-institutional conversation characteristics. The main body part of the paper includes three aspects. The first part analyzes the overall structure of the two highest rated domestic outdoor reality shows, describes their beginning and closing modes.Different programs have different beginning and closing modes, but each program has its own fixed mode,so as to summarize the institutional features of outdoor reality show conversations. The second part is to study the local structure, analyze how to construct and turn conversion, the type of answer structure,feedback.Turn-construction units have sentences, sentence and sentence group,turn-taking is achieved through taking and giving up the turn, the type of answer structure is various, feedback has verbal and non-verbal feedback. All of these conform to the daily conversational characteristics. The third part combines the analysis with the first two parts and summarizes the semi-institutional characteristics of the outdoor reality show conversation. At the same time, compared with TV talk show,we can find the significant features of outdoor reality show conversation — the richness of the conversational structure, the amusement of the theme, the humor of language, and equality of participants, which is different from the TV talk show.
