The Study On The Unearthed Buddhist Relics In The Liao Pagodas

As an important vestige of Buddhism in Liao Dynasty,the value of Liao pagodas has been widely focused by academic circles,and the study of Liao pagodas has always been the research focused in different fileds such as history of religion,art and architecture and so on.As an important relic left over from history,the Liao pagodas is an indispensable heritage for us to understand the history and culture of Liao Dynasty and provides us with abundant historical information.Firstly,this paper summarizes the present situation of the research in the Liao pagodas and the Liao pagoda Buddhist relics,and explains the necessity and method of the research in the Liao pagodas and the Liao pagoda Buddhist relics.Secondly,it summarizes the characteristics of the existing Liao pagodas,and introduces the archaeological discoveries of unearthed Buddhist relics.Then,the unearthed Buddhist relics in the Liao pagodas are systematically sorted out and classified according to their uses.According to the stage characteristics of the Buddhist relics unearthed in different periods of time,the Buddhist relics unearthed in the Liao pagodas are divided into three phases: early,middle and late.Finally,it explores the cultural connotation of the unearthed Buddhist relics in the Liao pagodas,and through the study of the unearthed Buddhist relics in the Liao pagodas,discusses the reasons for the prosperity of Buddhism in Liao Dynasty and the demise of the Liao Dynasty.The number and variety of unearthed Buddhist relics in the Liao pagodas are abundant,Can deeply reflect the historical and cultural characteristics of the Liao Dynasty,such as statues,Buddhist relics containers,sutra oblation,Buddhist instruments and so on.The study Based on the specific classification and divide into different period with the unearthed Buddhist relics in the Liao pagodas can analyzed the cultural connotation of the unearthed Buddhist relics in the Liao pagodas and therelationship between the prosperity of the Buddhism and the demise of the Liao Dynasty,which will play an important role in the discussion of the history of the Liao Dynasty.
