As a "contemporary master of short stories," Alice Munro constantly narrates scenes of family life and daily interpersonal communication in the "Munro's town" through the unique eyes of a female artist in order to express the ethical,emotional,and all aspects of the humanity by producing many a ethics novels of "Chekhov type".Among them,the ethical issues between family members have been repeatedly highlighted,and became an important phenomenon in the Munro's family novels.Munro's novels emphatically reveal the value pursuit and ethical ideal from ethical issues and alienated ethical relationships between husbands and wives,parenthood and kinship by using the method of Ethical Literary Criticism.The thesis is divided into three parts: the introduction part,the main body part and the conclusion part.The first part is introduction.This part elaborates the overview of Alice Munro and the research status of her novels,the research object,research methods,main ideas,research purposes and innovation points etc.In this paper,This part aims to explain the origin of this article,and to reveal the venation and general picture of the all text.The second part is the main body.From the first chapter to the third chapter.This part aims to discuss the family ethical problems.The first chapter mainly discusses the problems of marital ethics.The couple constantly rebel against the traditional family ethics,thus producing alienation of family ethics problems,eventually lead to family ethics tragic due to the dislocation of ethical identity,lacking of ethical consciousness.The second chapter mainly discusses the problems of parenthood ethics.This part discusses complex and irreconcilable family conflicts,even alienation of patent-child ethics relationships caused by ethical care restriction and ethical environment impact.The third chapter mainly discusses kinship ethics.This part interprets the other family ethics problems which cannot be underestimated in the novels.It mainly describes the moral violation between two sisters and the hostile mood generated by ethical expression between two brothers.The third part is the conclusion,which summarizes the moral purport and ethical ideal of Munro's novels.This part aims to highlight the quality featuring ethical appeals and moral scrutiny that Munro attaches much importance to,and ethical ideal of building harmonious family under Canadian traditional cultural institutions.
