In the 18 th century France,influenced by the Dutch genre paintings of the 17 th century,the Enlightenment at the same time also triggered the revolution of scientific thought for the contemporary society.The portrayal of French family themes flourished in this period.Portraits combine the family picture with ethical virtues.It shows the transformation of ideology and society in France through image,and enable the aesthetic enjoyment of families as the core to be realized.This article shows the portrait of the family in the period of the 1700 to the French Revolution.The portrayal of the portrait is gradually developed from the royal family and the privileged class to the artists and the wealthy middle-class family.This paper attempts to comb the eighteenth Century French family portrait classification description and exploration,a starting from the point of views of image,on the other hand,according to the theorist's explanation by Rousseau and Diderot,on eighteenth Century the French secular family daily life and aesthetic taste.This essay aims to summarize the relationship between family portraits and social development in the 18 th century.With portraits of visual images as the main research object,this thesis attempts to cautiously research family portraits as historical evidences of mapping the social landscape of image languages and further explore the social functional transition of family portraits-The portraits of this period not only undertake the commemorative function,but also infiltrate the concept of family virtue and social equality into the picture,and play an exemplary role for the general public.The family portrait studied in this article is a commemorative painting creation different from traditional religious portraits with realism.The full text is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,which defines the related concepts,elaborates the background and significance of the research,the purpose and content of the research,the research status in China and abroad,and gives the theoretical research of the family portrait for the aesthetic category.The second chapter is about the field construction of family portrait.It is discussed from two aspects: portrait and virtue communication,indoor and outdoor space and family life carrier.Textual research of French secular family in daily activities shows the sense of equality,and reflects the social and cultural background through visual images,so as to establish corresponding theoretical basis for future research.The third chapter discusses the relationship between portraiture and social picture,and elaborates from two aspects: family life become the possibility of artistic expression and realistic emotion based visual reproduction.The interpretation of non-aristocratic domain has become themain object of family portrait.It is based on iconography and aesthetics theory to show the visual image of family ethics.The fourth chapter is the induction of the paradigm of "French" family portraits.At the same time,the function of family portraits is transformed into an entry point to reveal the aesthetic orientation of the French society at that time and elaborate the emotional connection between "relationship aesthetics" and family portraits.The fifth chapter summarizes the full text,combs the clues of the family portrait,and narrates the interaction and influence of the French family portrait with the social landscape and the aesthetic historical theory.
