The Mirror,a smooth and flat reflector, perched poetically in the daily life of mankind. When human beings begin to recognize their face in the mirror or the shadow that is reflected by the flow of water, this action is given a symbolic meaning. It congealed in ancient and modern literary works, and became an ancient original image and artistic prototype. The image itself contains the remnants of the joy and sorrow that our ancestors repeated countless times in the history. The "Modernist" poets unconsciously joined the long history of genes and memories in the process of repeatedly looking in the mirror, this action is internalized an art experience which can connect ancient and modern society, and produce new feelings and spirits in the new context of the times. This article discusses the new features of the mirror image in the Chinese modernist poetry in the 1930 s,and analyses the deep underlying causes behind it.The introduction part, first makes clear the object of study, combing the research results and research status related to this topic, and shows the significance and research methods of this paper. The text is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is about the pedigree of the mirror image of modernist poetry. The author discusses the inheritance of this image from ancient and modern, analyses the difference of mirror image in Chinese and Western Literature, and then discusses the mirror image in modernist poetry. After combing the evolution of the image of the mirror in the classical literature of the East and the west,The author explains the relationship between the mirror image in the modernist poetry and the traditional culture and the heterogeneous culture, and then studies the changes of functions of the mirror image in modern poetry in Chinese. In the second chapter, the author studies the image of mirrors and the emotional expression of modernist poets. On the one hand, they affirm themselves inward.Because people can’t see their faces or see their own eyes, poets can only see themselves through the mirror or river surface, and establish their own image through the mirror. On the other hand, outwardly, modernist poets try to communicate with their loved ones through their eyes, dreams and portraiture. Therefore, the mirror image becomes a bridge linking poets to others, poets and the outside world. Finally, when facing the domestic trouble and foreign invasion of the era, these poets no longer imagines and laments the impermanence of fate. The common psychological experience makes them capture the medium of mirror image, and the image of the mirror becames the artistic prototype of their reflection and self reconfiguration. In the third chapter, the author studies the mirror image and the time and space expression of modernist poetry. The mirror contains the complex contents from the plane to the three-dimensional space, from the eternal stagnation of time to the crisscross of life and death. In the writing of Chinese modernist poets, the mirror is an intuitive reflection of the real world, the witness of the passing of time and also the builder of a complex space maze.In the final part, the author makes a summary of this paper, and points out the gains and losses of the article.
