The Adaptation Between The Novel "White Dog Swing Fram" And The Movie "Warm"

The "White Dog Swing Fram" is a short story written by Mo Yan in his early years,which was known as one of the most important works in the process of his literary creation.Huo Jianqi successfully adapted this novel full of tragic consciousness into a tender movie.The double harvest of commerce and art also provides some new thinking for movie adaptation: What is the purpose of movie adaptation? This paper,discussing about the novel "White Dog Swing Fram" and the adapted film "Warm",tries to analyze the different writing styles between Mo Yan and Huo Jianqi..At the same time,it shows the different expressions about living environments of family and the relationships between the urban and rural areas,and so on.I hope this research can provide some reference for the adaptation from novels to movies.The thesis is divided into three chapters.The first chapter,standing in a viewpoint of the traditional narratology,expounds the changes in the content of the novel "White Dog Swing Farm"to the film "Warm",including the rearrangement of the plot,the reshaping of the characters and the change of the environmental background.The second chapter mainly discusses the different expressions of novels and movies at family level.Mo Yan and Huo Jianqi took the family as the core of the narrative.The family in the novel set up in the dilemma of survival,marriage and the resulting redemption dilemma,while the film in the adaptation of Chinese traditional family ethics weakened the original book to the predicament of the expression,and realized emotional redemption.The third chapter analyzes the different reflection of novels and movies in the relationship between urban and rural areas from the perspective of urban-rural perspective.Mo Yan is mainly on the standpoint of rural people entering the city,expressing the difficult and miserable country's hardship and poverty,the country's progress towards modernization,and the relationship between urban and rural areas is in a state of opposites.In the movie,Huo Jianqi looks back at the countryside mainly from the perspective of urban nostalgia.The rural performance is beautiful and simple,and the urban and rural areas show harmony and mutual help.Although movies and novels have different forms and styles,they convey the same ideological connotation.
