An Analysis Of The Vague Rhetoric Of Modern Chinese Poetry

This thesis takes the vague rhetoric of modern Chinese poetry as the research object,and takes Gu Cheng's Poetry Collection as an example to investigate 604 poems,and analyzes the formation and expression effect of vague rhetoric.This thesis holds that vague language and vague parole should be studied separately and not be confused,and vague rhetoric belongs to the category of vague parole.The constituent means of vague rhetoric are no longer limited to vague language,but extended to vague parole.Many precise languages can form vague rhetoric under certain conditions.On the basis of previous studies,this thesis redefines vague parole and vague rhetoric by combining the content of vague linguistics and rhetoric,and this definition vague rhetoric more accurately.Words,sentences,texts and figures of parole are the common forms of vague rhetoric.In modern poetry,but the vagueness don't affect the meaning of poetry.Vague rhetoric is only a kind of vague expression,rather than vague expression content,on the contrary,vague rhetoric can often deepen the accuracy of poetry.Poetry meaning is the sum of poetry language meaning and poetry parole meaning.From the perspective of poetry and rhetoric,poetry meaning should be accurate.Vague rhetoric in poetry to express the meaning of poetry makes the unpredictable expression more clear.The real vague rhetoric should also be able to more accurately express the meaning of the work,rather than making the meaning of literary works vague.Through the investigation and summary of Gu Cheng's poems,this thesis argues that vague rhetoric is not only embodied in semantics,but also may constitute a special kind of vague rhetoric in the layout and structure of language units.The main content of the article is divided into three parts:First,the first chapter mainly redefines vague rhetoric.It is necessary to discuss fuzziness in vague language,and vague rhetoric belongs to the category of parole.Therefore,we must have a new definition of vague rhetoric on the basis of parole category.Because the precision and fuzziness of the language could mutual transformation under certain conditions.Therefore,any language may become vague language.so that vague rhetoric can be defined as: Vague rhetoric is a rhetorical activity with the conscious using vague language,which makes the discourse deviation on pragmatics and language conventions,but to the benefit of expressing communication.Secondly,the second chapter clarifies the accuracy of poetry relative to vague rhetoric.Before discussing the expression effect of vague rhetoric,we must be confirm the meaning of poems is accurate.If the meaning of poems is vague,and the effect of expression of vague rhetoric is attached to the intention of the author and makes the poetic meaning more clear from the introduction.So the vague of the potry and the expression effect of vague rhetoric is opposite.This kind of contradiction is obviously unreasonable.Therefore,we prove the accuracy of the meaning of poetry from two aspects: The characteristics of poetry itself,the rhetorical purposes and the principles.Thirdly,third chapters to the fifth chapters are the specific verification of the formation and expression of vague rhetoric in poetry,which can be combined as a part.It is divided into three parts: vague words,vague texts and vague figures of speech.The three parts are three categories of the formation of vague rhetoric.The sub-categories under the three categories not only contain the vague rhetoric formed by traditional vague language,but also include the vague rhetoric formed in the specific temporary combination;This paper not only discusses vague rhetoric in meaning,but also expounds vague rhetoric in grammar,pronunciation and form.First,from the perspective of words,vague words has monosemy vague words and polysemy vague words.It is worth noting that these vague words poet used are different from usual usage.Even polysemy will not cause ambiguity,because they are unified in the overall meaning of poetry.The fourth chapter is the actual demonstration of vague sentences and vague discourses.The formation of vague sentences and vague discourses mostly are based on grammars.That is to say,there is a vital relationship between their fuzziness and the structure of the layout.Vague sentences are different from ambiguous sentences.Their polysemous sentences are similar to polysemous words.The contradiction between sentences is compatible with the whole poetry context.The last chapter is a vague figure of speech in poetry.The traditional figures of speech could form the vague figures of speech under certain conditions.Therefore,there is differences and relationship between the traditional figures of speech and vague figures of speech.The vague figures of speech may be formed by the traditional figures of speech adding to vague words,or be formed because of their different expressions from the traditional figures of speech.This thesis mainly discusses the vague figures of speech in Gu Cheng's poems which are different from the traditional figures of speech.Finally,the conclusion is drawn that the vague rhetoric has a reduced effect on the fuzziness of poetry and has an increasing effect on its accuracy.On the basis of previous studies,the thesis reconsiders the research scope of vague language ? vague parole and vague rhetoric,and further systematically analyzes the relationship between vague rhetoric and the meaning of modern Chinese poetry.
