Language test and English teaching are closely related to each other,which has attracted many scholars' attention.Language testing,as a measure of the effectiveness of English language teaching,is also an important means to further promote teaching reform.It also takes responsibility for improving the quality of teaching.Studies have shown that language testing has a great influence on all aspects of language teaching.This effect is called backwash.In particular,the large-scale,high-risk tests such as the college entrance examination have given more obvious effects to teaching.This study uses the national unified examination paper as the starting point for the Shaanxi College Entrance Examination English since 2016.The biggest change is the addition of specialized listening tests.Based on this major change,the author used the questionnaire as the main research tool and combined with the interview method to select English teachers from 10 high schools in Shaanxi Province was conducted.In order to investigate the positive or negative impacts on the listening teaching of high school English teachers after adopting a national unified test paper.These impacts were specific to the listening teaching objectives,teaching contents,and teaching methods,the teaching schedule and teaching strategy.And whether there is a difference between the different teacher individuals in the backwash function;and how to use the English test for college entrance examination to address the beneficial backwash effect of high school English listening teaching.In addition,according to the present situation of high school English listening teaching,we give some suggestions and opinions,correct teachers' attitudes toward the English test of college entrance examination,promote their teaching reflection,and adjust the teaching contents,teaching methods,teaching schedules and teaching strategies appropriately so that change the predicament of English listening teaching,improve the quality of teaching,and achieve the goal of promoting examination through reformation.
