| Liaison interpreting is a kind of complicated cross-cultural communicative activity involving a series of mental processes while listening and analyzing source language, extracting information and restructuring in the target language, which overlaps with communication strategies in second language acquisition to a certain extent. From October 13th to 18th,the author took part in a liaison interpreting task about rope courses for Yan’an Treetop Walk Forest Park. There were two stages of author’s task.In the first stage, she encountered three kinds of problems:information inaccuracy, inadequate delivery of dense information, lagged response. In the second stage, the author adopted a series of communication strategies such as reduction strategies, achievement strategies,non-linguistic strategies, avoidance strategies, stalling strategies, compensation strategies, and they were proved to be efficient and effective in improving the communicative effect. The author hopes that this report can offer some references for the would-be interpreters for their future interpreting task especially related to rope course construction. |
