A Study On Xiao Hong's Idea Of Composition And Her Works

Xiao Hong was writer whose writing thoughts were totally different in periods.This paper mainly analyzes her changing idea of composition and rich connotation in her literary works,and talks about the value and significance of her literary works in history of literature.This paper can be divided into four chapters except the introduction and conclusion part.The first chapter represents the effect her father's indifference and autocracy bring to her;After she went to school,she was surrounded by the new thoughts of the May 4th Movement.She began to expect the big and free world,and she had a instinct resistance to Paternity.She wanted to control her own life all by herself.The second chapter talks about that with her first lover's inspiration she started to compose.Her betray to family brought contempt and censure to her.She once witnessed the landlord's oppression to the poor people,so her work was full of hatred and revolt to the feudal family and the landlord class.After the Incident,Japan established the Manchurian in the northeastern part of China.People there were suffering a lot,and the idea of liberation was added to her thoughts of free world.And her literary works began to focus on the national liberation.The third chapter tells she gained Lu Xun's support and her Life and Death became popular.She was considered as an excellent war writer.However,she didn't continue to write novels of war.As Lu's follower,she succeeded his standpoint of national character criticism.With the influence of him,her writing standpoint became confronting mankind's ignorance,and her literary works began to focus on examining national people's soul and revealed the deep-rooted bad habits of Chinese people.The forth chapter discusses the reflection of her changing idea of composition in her literary works,for example,Life and Death's appeal to national liberation and enlightening to the human soul,the story of homeland's thinking to the value of life and expectation to the modernization of village,and the story of Ma Paul's concern to personality issues and trying to transform national people's soul.Her literary works revealed the cause of morbid society and people,the unfair social system,the inherent old thoughts,and the lack of modern education.She expected people living a healthy,free and graceful life,and she looked forward to seeing people could enjoy the true spiritual civilization.
