From the perspective of his existentialism,jean-paul Sartre has described his unique thinking on literature in the field of literary theory,broadening the theoretical perspective of literature research.As the core concept of Sartre philosophy and literature,"freedom" plays an important role in the formation of literary theory.Therefore,this paper will describe Sartre’s unique literary theory in the application and significance of the existentialism of Sartre.The main content has the following parts:The first part discusses the main idea of Sartre’s existentialist view of freedom.First of all,it discusses Sartre’s freedom,the relation and difference between the freedom of determinism and the non-determinism,and the freedom of Sartre.Then it analyzes the problems of freedom and consciousness,freedom and existence,freedom and situation and responsibility,and the freedom of others,to explore the philosophical connotation of Sartre’s freedom and its differences with the traditional view of freedom.The second part elaborates the free thought in Sartre’s literary theory.Starting from Sartre’s long literary essay "What is Literature",analyze the relationship between three issues and freedom that Sartre proposed(what is literature? Why writing? For whom?),thus understanding Sartre’s emphasis on committed literature and Sartre’s views on the relationship between the author’s freedom and readers’ freedom.The third part,based on Sartre’s literary criticism and creation,discusses the application of Sartre’s literary theory in literary practice.In the aspect of literary creation,it discusses the relationship between the involvement of Sartre’s drama : The Respectful Prostitute,The Flies,No Exit and the novel : The Wall.In the aspect of literary criticism,from the relationship between the characters,time,the absurd subject and the freedom,analyzes Sartre’s criticism of Fran?ois Mauriac La Fin De Fl Nuit,William Faulkner The Sound and the Fury,Albert Camus L’étranger.The conclusion part from Sartre’s literary theory on the influence of 20 th century French culture,and Sartre’s "freedom" in the literary theory,in the real significance.Therefore,a brief review of Sartre’s literary theory is made.The literary theory of Sartre’s existentialist view of freedom has its unique features.This paper aims at systematically illustrating the general situation of Sartre’s literary theory with freedom as the core.In order to provide a useful supplement to Sartre’s research and Sartre’s research,and to give some enlightenment to today’s literary practice. |
