Research On Anna Shields’《Huajian Ji》Studies

This thesis takes Anna M.Shields’ s Research of Huajian Ji(her monograph Crafting A Collection:the Cultural Contexts and Poetic Practice of the Huajian Ji)as its research object,and dedicates to discover the innovation and deficiency in the research of Anna ’s via a thorough comparison with the fruitful results of Chinese researchers.The main body of this thesis consists of four parts.The introduction part focuses on the background and the latest achievements of the research of Huajian Ji,which both in China and abroad.It also summarizes the general ideas of Anna’s research.Three representative topics are extracted from Anna’s monograph,and discussed respectively in chapter one,two and three.In the first chapter,the origin of Huajian-poetry,the author investigates the research achievements in worldwide on this topic as an overview,then discusses the main ideas of Anna.And the second chapter is about the content and cultural backgroud of Huajian Ji,including some religious influence besides "Romance" topic,and the application of feminist criticism in Chinese poetry.The third chapter discusses the poetic practice of the Huajian Ji.The author appraises two famous Huajian poets-Wenting Yun and WeiZhuang,and finds out Anna’s research speaks highly of their influences of Huajian poems’ composition rules,Anna focuses on the composition skills of Huajian poets,which could be regard as a innovation idea in Huajian Ji researches.
