Reception Aesthetics theory has largely weakened the absolute authority position of the writer to his work.It changes the center position of literature writing which used to be the writer and turns to the readers emphasizing the reader's dominant position and functions to the value of the literature work.In its point of view, reception is the recreating process of literature work that made by readers, and it explores various connotation of literature work.It also realizes that the meaning of literature work will exist only when it is accepted by reader. As the communicative media between original work and the target language readers, translator not only should be faithful to the meaning of original work during the process of translation, but also exerts his subjectivity initiative to reprocessing the work properly at the same time,so that the translation work will be well accepted by readers in translator's native language environment. The different growing environment, education background and translation experience differentiate the translator's translation methods, language style and aesthetic standard under the influence of Reception Aesthetics Theory. Therefore, the version of original work will be different.Of Human Bondage is the semi-autobiography written by William Somerset Maugham in19thcentury.Since it has been published,it fully received high praise for its unique character and are still read by people all over the world.Based on Reception Aesthetics Theory this paper will take two Chinese versions of Of Human Bondage that translated by Huang Shuiqi and Zhang Le as research objects through H.Jauss's Horizon of Expectations and W.Iser's Appealing Structure. The translator's subjectivity will be explored from five aspects.First,it starts from figure's personal character to discover how the translator's own Horizon of Expectation influences the same figure in the article and their translation when they are the first reader to the original work.Second,it conducts a comparative study of two translators translating methods to analyze the subjectivity of translator by comparing the different choice of two translators translate strategy.Third,it analyzes the language style.According to the two translators'translation style which shows in their work to find the more popular version.Forth, from the perspective of culture, the analysis focuses on the cooperative study of target language and original language, from which it analyzes the translator's cultural orient.Fifth, from the perspective of aesthetic intention,Reception Aesthetics Theory emphasizes the original work'function that help reader improve their aesthetic level.Through the comparative study of the original work and the two texts,it intends to explore how translators use their own subjective initiative to properly strategically rewrite when they transfer the original work's aesthetic intention, making the translation more appreciated and improve reader's Horizon of Expectation and aesthetic level at the same time.
