Yunnan is the only region where there is a common spread of Chinese Buddhism,Tibetan Buddhism and Hinayana Buddhism in China and even in the world.There are multiple reasons about peaceful coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism during Ming and Qing Dynasty.It's a combination of various factors,such as political,economic,historical and cultural force.It contains not only profound historical background and rich social and cultural foundation,but also the economic interaction and homology of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism.The paper thoroughly explores interactive communication and historical origin in three branches of Yunnan Buddhism,further digs the reasons of coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism,has great reference meaning in practice and guiding significance in theory.It can safeguard Chinese border stability,promote peaceful coexistence among different religions and ethnic groups in the world,and solve the problem of world religious conflicts.Furthermore,it is also a timely response to China's practice of constructing multi-religious ecological balance and religious harmony.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces the situation about peaceful coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism.It respectively introduces its process and development in Yunnan.This part elaborates the situation about peaceful coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism based on their geographic distribution and believers.Besides,this part uses the typical cases,Jizu-Mountain in Dali,Baisha Murals in Lijiang and Total Buddhist Temple in Gengma,as evidence to analyze.The second chapter mainly explores the rule and mechanism between religion and political life,and researches the inseparable and mutually beneficial relationship between Yunnan Buddhism and the local power order in the process of formation and evolution during Ming and Qing Dynasty.This part proceeds from the central national policy and the three independent realms of local government-religious relation to explore the interaction between Yunnan Buddhism and politics,andanalyze the inner interaction between Theocracy and regime.Thereby it dissects the political reason about the coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism.The third chapter mainly analyzes the influence of the temple economies on the coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism.Starting from the unique Buddhism temple economies,this part describes the characteristics of Buddhist temple economies,analyzes the relationship between national taxes system and temple economies during Ming and Qing Dynasty.The part explores the interaction and exchange between three branches of Buddhism in commercial road from the special geographical position in Yunnan.The interaction and exchange between three branches of Yunnan Buddhism,has realized the growth of the economic strength of different Buddhist branches,but also has promoted the friendly exchanges,and co-existence among the three branches of Yunnan Buddhism.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the influence of Yunnan's open and pluralistic geographical and cultural environment on the coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism.This part analyzes the environmental factors of the coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism from two aspects of Yunnan's special geographical and geopolitical environment and multi-religious traditional culture.The diversity and complexity of Yunnan's geographical environment is one of the most important reasons for the coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism.And they laid a solid foundation and created an appropriate development environment for the coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism,which are time-honored traditional cultural heritage and mutual tolerant psychology of national identity.The fifth chapter mainly analyzes the harmonious in doctrines of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism.The paper analyzes the reasons of coexistence of Yunnan Buddhism from several aspects,such as the origin,doctrine,commandment,religious festivals and religious tolerance.Under the same belief system,the common ideal faith and dharma are the basic conditions and internal driving force for the coexistence of three branches of Yunnan Buddhism.
