Nowadays, more and more foreign sci-tech products have gradually come into people's vision and become an indispensable part in people's daily life.In order to better promote their technology products to the consumers living in other countries, the spokesmen of sci-tech companies usually choose to use English which is the most common language in the world to promote their products in the form of product launches to customers using different languages around the world, which directly promote the development of EST(English for Science and Technology)interpreting and arouse some new demands to it as well. Therefore, the studies of EST interpreting are motivated by practical needs.According to Adaptation Theory, language use is viewed as a process of continuous making of choices so as to approach points of satisfaction for communication needs. As an interlingual and intercultural communication medium, the success of interpreting depends on the continuous choice-makings to make adaptations. The thesis takes Adaptation Theory as the theoretical basis and chooses the simultaneous interpretation from English to Chinese of iPhone X product presentation of 2017 Apple Special Event as the corpus to analyze the embodiment and application of Adaptation Theory in the process of EST interpreting.Through the analysis of the theory and the research on the corpus, the author finds out that there exists compatibility between Adaptation Theory and the study of EST interpreting, what's more, the interpreter continuously makes dynamic adaptations in the aspects of linguistic structure and the context in the process of EST interpreting.Through the analysis of the application and embodiment of Adaptation Theory in the process of EST interpreting, the author hopes the thesis can provide some references to both the study and practice of EST interpreting.
