Linear Elements In Exhibition Space Design Of The Xibo Museum

Linear is the basic design element as well as the most direct formal language in the form construction of exhibition space.Different forms of linear stimulate different imaginations and feelings and also cause the different responses of emotion during the process of appreciating objects.Different combinations of linear elements can create a lightsome and flowing state of formal beauty and constitute ever-changing forms of exhibition spaces.The research object of this paper is the display space of the Sibo Musume which according to the author's graduation design.Through the study of linear element's specific properties and its form principle and expression of feelings in exhibition spaces,this paper starts with the history,regional culture and national customs of Sibo,and then fully explores the relationship of linear and some other elements of space construction such as general layout,circulation,decorative detail and illumination design,which meanwhile combines the experience and thoughts of linear elements in design practice.The main purpose of this thesis is to make it clear and definite for designers that the spiritual connotation,artistic value and novel design pattern of the application of linear element in exhibition spaces,thereby raise the design level of the modern museum exhibition space.
