There is an increasing number of states with multicultural populations.Such states face the serious problems that can be associated with a culturally diverse society. This particularly applies to the leading Western European states:UK,Germany and France, where this problem is increasingly acute today. The multiculturalism policy is a modern and popular solution to the problems of culturally diverse societies all over the world. It has proven successful in migrant states such as Canada, but has been blamed for the failed integration of societies in Western Europe. The main goal was to study the European multicultural experiment in order to answer the following questions:is the policy being carried out in Europe in fact that of multiculturalism? What are the obstacles for the implementation of the multiculturalism policy? What are the prospects for multiculturalism in Western European states? To answer these questions a more precise definition of multiculturalism was formulated. The successful Canadian experience was then analyzed, enabling a practical model of multiculturalism policy to be created. This was then compared with the policy of multiculturalism in the UK,Germany and France. The results showed that the multiculturalism policy has never been properly implemented in Europe. All groups in the society have not been included in defining the common good.In conclusion,European societies are not yet equipped to implement the multiculturalism policy.
