This article explores the relationship between Lu Xun and the irrational ideologicaltrends that emerged in the late 19th century in the view of comparative literature.The core research task is to explore a number of questions centered on Lu Xun based on theintrinsic relationship between the two-the duality idea of "building up people",thepsychological motivation of "Abandon medicine to literature",the contradictionbetween despair and struggle,the profound connotation of "madman" image in "TheMadman’s Diary".From the perspective of the irrational trend of thought in the late 19th century inthe West,its historical roots can be traced back to the romanticism’s backlash against theEnlightenment rationality,and presents basic ideological inclinations such as the"double subversiveness" of Enlightenment culture and Christian culture.When Lu Xun studied in Japan at the beginning of the 20th century,he accepted the influence of irrational thoughts.When examined Lu Xun’s acceptance on the whole,it presented theaccepting irrational thoughts and enlightenment thoughts at the same time("identity),and selectively ingesting the beneficial elements of constructing Chinese new culture("practicality").From the concrete connection between Lu Xun and irrational ideological trend,first of all,use the strategy of influence research to examine Lu Xun’s active choice ofspiritual thought around the idea of "building up people" and the resulting spiritual fit.Second,use the strategy of parallel research,with the ideological tendencies or concreteideas contained in the western irrational thoughts—"the rise of aesthetics" and "thespirit of Dionysianism"-refer to Lu Xun’s literary concept and the literary spirit of facing hopelessness.Finally,use the strategy of elucidating research,Foucault’smadness research theory is used to interpret the "Madman’s Diary" and to explore thedeep meaning of the "Madman" image and the intrinsic link with irrational thought. |
