| With the improvement of international status,China has more and more right to speak in the international arena.It has played an increasingly important role in the international community and the development has increasingly attracted worldwide attention.The Belt and Road initiative is a national strategy initiated by China and promoted at the top level,which is highly valued by all sectors of society at home.On May 14,2017,President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of the Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit in Beijing,and delivered a keynote speech titled Jointly Promote the Construction of the Belt and Road.Research on this translated text has attracted widespread attention from scholars and experts in the translation field.The English translation of the speech follows the skopos theory and the relevant four principles.Besides the features of foreign affair diplomatic texts,it also has a strong Chinese characteristics.In the English translation of this speech,the vocabulary chosen is appropriate,the structure is rigorous and the language is fluent.It also uses a lot of citations and it has distinctive features.The study of this article has important reference value for the spread of Chinese culture and the promotion of international exchanges.Based on the Belt and Road strategy,this paper starts with the research status of foreign affair diplomatic texts translation strategies.According to the diplomatic texts in foreign affairs are characterized by sensitive topics,strict language and many political terms.Combining the functions of realizing foreign policy,handling international relations and affirming and assuming state power and obligation.Using the skopos theory of translation and its four translation principles,namely the purpose principle,coherence principle,loyalty principle and fidelity principle to interpret the translated text.And summarize the translation strategy of this foreign affair diplomatic text under the guidance of skopos theory. |
