The transition from high school to college is a critical period time for many students.For majority of students,entering college means that they must learn to deal with various of social life problems independently.Encountering the problems,if students are able to solve them in a creative way,they may create more suitable conditions for their survival and development.Social creativity refers to the creativity in the area of daily social interaction and social activities.Social creativity is the psychological characteristics and abilities,driven by specific personalities,to put forward and solve social problems in a unique,novel,appropriate and effective way.Combining microgenesis design and virtual simulation technology,the present research tested high and low trait social creativity college students’ developmental change of creative problem solving ability(i.e.,the state social creativity),during a short period of time,in virtual situation.The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)Both at the stage of divergent thinking and the stage of convergence,the developmental changes in the quality of individual strategies and the types of strategies were inconsistencies across specific problem sictuations.(2)At the stage of divergent thinking,with the promotion of the experimental periods,there were three different change patterns of strategy originality.Moreover,in general,the strategy usfulness increased with the promotion of the experimental periods;the advantages of the high quality social creative individuals in strategy quality were mainly embodied in strategy usefulness.(3)At the stage of divergent thinking,with the promotion of the experimental periods,there were three different change patterns of the use rate of creative strategies;moreover,in general,students with high trait social creativity used more creative strategies than those with low trait social creativity.(4)At the stage of convergent thinking,with the promotion of the experimental periods,there were three different change patterns of strategy usefulness.However,in general,the strategy quality did not change obviously with the advance of the experimental periods,and only in the problem situation of peer conflict,the strategy usefulness of the students with high trait social creativity was higher than those with low trait social creativity.(5)At the stage of convergent thinking,with the promotion of the experimental periods,there were twe different change patterns of the number of students using creative strategies.Moreover,in general,there were more students using creative strategies in the high trait social creative group.However,the differences in the problem situations of emotion regulation,time management and academic difficulties were small.
