Dru-gu is one of the most popular ancient kingdoms in North region of China and many ethnicities of their neighboring regions including Tibet were influenced by their unique culture.Tibet also applied dru-gu culture into Tibet community and there is almost thousand years of historical connection between these two kingdoms.Previous academic researchers were mainly focused on political system which Tibetans studied from dru-gu and applied in their own country. However,I believe that beside political system Tibetans also studied religious culture, economic culture, military culture and more from dru-gu.Therefore it will be more valuable to research the actual cultural relationship between Tibet and dru-gu,and how dru-gu culture was applied into Tibet society for what purpose related to Gesar Sgrung, this is also the reason why I chose to study on this topic and below is my research study structure. This paper includes foreword, reference, conclusion and the main body of the paper is divides into three chapters.First chapter includes dru-gu people, villages, territory and historical background also includes its division to East and West parts based on academic historical records. In the second chapter,I discuss the relationship between dru-gu and Tibet;Tibet-East dru-gu relations,Tibet-West dru-gu relations and the relationship between Tibet and post-dru-gu along with talks about religious beliefs, political systems, business economy and medical developments as well.In the final chapter I first, describes some images,history,dru-gu territory and few historical Tibetans which are mentioned in the book called “drug gu go rdzong” from Gesar sgrung.Second,I compare the dru-gu rdzong and Gaochang ancient city wall which is located in Turpan,Xinjiang. At last,I discuss two different ways of writing the name of dru-gu’s dru in Tibetan literature, which are the root letter ga with subscribed letter ra and root letter da with subscribed letter ra.Overall,“drug gu go edzong” is one of the most important books which not only talks about the war between dru-gu and Tibet but their relationship as well. |
