Greetings are the most common communicative spoken language in people's daily life.Appropriate greetings can help establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.Improper greetings can not only make communication embarrassed but also hinder interpersonal communication.When foreign students use Chinese greetings to communicate,they often have a series of pragmatic mistakes due to improper use,which leads to obstacles in cross-cultural communication.This paper adopts questionnaires,comparative analysis and other research methods,selects Korean students as the survey objects,summarizes the pragmatic failures of Korean students' Chinese greetings,discusses their reasons,and finally puts forward corresponding teaching suggestions.The paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly expounds the reason and value of the selected topic,determines the scope of the research object and the corpus of this paper,introduces the research status,research ideas and methods.The second chapter summarizes the Chinese language greetings,and refers to the previous scholars' analysis and research results to determine the definition and classification of Chinese greetings.The third chapter is the focus of this article.It mainly uses questionnaires to understand the use of Chinese greetings by Korean students.It also uses the pragmatic situation of Chinese students' Chinese greetings as a reference to summarize the pragmatic failures of Korean students' Chinese greetings.Discuss the reasons for pragmatic failures.The fourth chapter is teaching suggestions based on the pragmaticfailures and reasons of Korean students' Chinese greetings.In the compilation of teaching materials,language materials for contextualization,daily life,and authenticity should be designed;for teachers' teaching,teaching methods such as “introduction of culture”,“situation reproduction”,and “sub-level teaching method” should be used.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,summarizing the research results and deficiencies of this article.
