Research Of Thai Students Use Close Equivalent Expression Of Chinese Vocabularies Situation

Presently,with the high level of interest in the Chinese language by the Thai people,there has been an increase in the number of those who study Chinese language.In Thai universities,some Thai students choose Chinese language as their major course,as a part-time study or as a field of interest.Some who are already working,also like to study Chinese language,and they choose to study Chinese in various language institutes in Thailand or come to China to study.During the course of their study,they have some difficulties with the vocabularies they have learned,most of these vocabularies have synonyms,with "different ways of expression",and this is the major issue Thai students who study Chinese face.They often make errors when they use Chinese Vocabularies to make expressions.So,in this research,we will focus on the "error(s)in expression"Under this circumstance,The researcher prepared questionnaires,using the HSK vocabularies.The researcher classified the vocabularies into Noun,Verb and Adjective.The questionnaire was designed based on these three groups.There are two sections in the questionnaire,the first section is about personal information,such as sex,age,the period of Chinese study,etc.The second section are questions based on Chinese vocabulary expression error,which consists of two parts with options to fill in the blanks.After the questionnaire was drafted,the researcher posted the questionnaires online for people to fill.There were107 Thai students who filled the questionnaires.From the result of the research,the researcher discovered that over 50 percent of the Thai students were able to answer more than a half of the questions correctly.The total amount score of this questionnaire is 35,mean is 19.89,which is equal to 56.83 percent.From the analysis of the research,the researcher discovered that the main factors that caused the issue are the meaning of Chinese vocabularies and their usages.When Chinese vocabularies are translated in Thai language,there are no differences.However,the Chinese vocabularies have to be matched based on the context,because some of the Chinese vocabularies have positive meanings,while some have negative meanings.For the usage of Chinese vocabularies,Thai students do not know how to match the words correctly to rhyme with the context.In addition,Thai students do not interact with their teachers in the classroom,so,the teachers needed to check whether they understand the lesson(s)or not.They use various waysto help the students understand the lesson better,such as,playing games,making sentences,telling stories etc.These help to reveal their difficulties and their causes,then know how to help improve in the level of their Chinese vocabularies and their usages.
