Application Research And Image Design Of Supporting Actor In Disney Animated Films

Although the supporting actors in the Disney animated films do not determine the direction and development of the main plot of the whole film,nor the play can not compared with the protagonists,the existence of the supporting roles not only adds the elements of entertainment and comedy to the film.When the story develops to an important turning point,it can connect the whole plot and push the story to a climax.Through many years of change and development,Disney animation has gradually formed its own unique supporting role design method.This article begins with the first animated movie released by Disney in 1937,and summarizes and analyzes the supporting role in it.To study the importance of supporting roles in Disney animated films.This article mainly carries on the analysis and research from three aspects.Based on the classification of supporting roles in Disney animated films,this article summarizes and analyzes the supporting roles in Disney classic feature films,and takes the duration of supporting actors,the degree of design integrity and the functionality in the films as the yardstick.The supporting roles in Disney animated films are divided into four categories: main supporting roles,small roles,mass roles and negative characters.Different supporting actors are different in modeling design and function.The classic matching of the protagonists and the supporting actors in Disney animated films has also become an important narrative strategy.Starting with the narrative characteristics of supporting actors,this article tries to analyze the functional role of supporting actors in Disney animated films.Different types of supporting roles in Disney animated films produce different functions.In addition to adding entertainment to the film,the positive supporting roles also assume the important functions of series plot,foil theme,character supplement and so on.On the other hand,the negative role is opposed to the protagonist in the film,which mainly promotes the development of the storyline for the production of the film,creates difficulties for the protagonist and enriches the plot of the film.Fosters the good character of the protagonist's tenacity,bravery,etc.Starting with the changes of supporting image design and functional design,with the continuous improvement of society,economy,audience demand and technology,the supporting role design will also change.The supporting actor gradually changed from the two-dimensional hand-drawn plane image to the three-dimensional role image;the character of the supporting actor also became three-dimensional and complete with the image;the comedy performance of the supporting actor gradually infiltrated into the plot from the beginning of the one-act drama.Functionality also from the initial simple entertainment function gradually plays an indispensable role in the plot.Disney animated movies have their own common laws and strategies in the design of supporting actors,but each supporting actor in each film has its own characteristics,and the emergence of these supporting actors can always skillfully link the two events together,promote the plot development,let the audience feel surprised,and feel that everything seemsto be reasonable.The existence of supporting actors makes the story full of bright spots,not never changed.So I think it is necessary to study the role and value of supporting actor in the plot.
