Daniel Defoe is an influential writer in the history of English Literature,although he become famous later,the influence of her creations today is still enduring.His novel,Robinson Crusoe has become a world classic,and his other works are equally wonderful.Until now,many of his works are set people thinking the sympathetic and evocative.This paper analyzes the indigenous image in bis works by the method of comparative literature criticism,reveals how the indigenous image is shaped.In-depth analysis of the creative motivation of Defoe.This paper is composed of introduction,text and summary of three parts.The text is divided into three chapters:The first chapter is the image of native people in Defoe's works;The second chapter is the native place in Defoe's works;The third chapter is about the causes of native image.The introduction focuses on the background and significance of the study of indigenous image;Research situation at home and abroad;and research ideas and methods.The second chapter is about the indigenous inhabitants described by Defoe.In this paper,the aboriginal image is divided into four categories.In either way,the white people are better than indigenous,this hides the central privilege of Defoe,and then,the colonization of the invaders was glorified.The third chapter taking desert island as research object,analysis of the hyperbole description of Defoe's indigenous place of residence.and then,pointing out his ambition of colonial expansion.Final summary of the overall characteristics of indigenous peoples,exposing the Defoe to the indigenous colonial desire.The fourth chapter mainly starts from the social and cultural background of the Defoe,trying to describe the impressions of the English people in that time.At that time,Britain was strong under queen Victoria,several foreign wars fought for the colonies were victorious.The public is full of confidence in the colonial expansion.And Protestant also very supportive of the art.In this context,Defoe's novels also show certain ambitions.On the other hand,the indigenous images described earlier are different.Like Shakespeare and Columbus,they have different views.
