A Comparative Study On Approximate Expressions In Chinese And Russian

"Approximate quantity" is a part of quantity category in every language.Both Russian and Chinese have a lot of linguistic constructions,expressing approximate quantity.The dissertation investigates the differences and similarities between Russian and Chinese approximate expressions.This dissertation aims to work out the mapping between grammar form and grammar meaning.The whole dissertation consists of the following six chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which mainly demonstrates the relation between approximate quantity and the quantity category system.On the ground of previous results,we lay out framework and methods used in the thesis and layouts the structure of the thesis..From the second to the fifth chapter we discuss approximate adverbials in Chinese and Russian.The second chapter investigates adverbs which express approximate quantity,including Chinese adverbs analysis,using of Russian adverbs and the comparison of two languages.The third chapter presents Chinese expressions of approximate number,including using of two numerals,approximate words etc.This chapter also represent Russian approximate numbers,making a comparison between two languages.The fourth chapter investigates the difference between Russian and Chinese cardinal numbers.The fifth chapter investigates special ways of expressing approximate quantity in Russian,for example,the mechanism of word orders in number phrases.The sixth chapter is a conclusion of the whole dissertation,which summaries all similar and different characteristics in grammar and meaning expression of approximation between Chinese and Russian languages.In the dissertation we present approximate expressions in two languages.We made analysis and description of Russian and Chinese approximate expressions.
