The Study On Modal Adverbs Of Guangzhou Dialect

Guangzhou dialect belongs to Cantonese Guangfu tablet,and it is the representative dialect of Guangdong Cantonese dialect.Based on the theory of three dimensions in the studies of Chinese grammar,this thesis in the syntactic,semantic and pragmatic dimension,analyzes twelve commonly used modal adverbs of Guangzhou dialect,trying to grasp the characteristics of modal adverbs in Guangzhou dialect.This thesis is divied into five parts.The first parts:Introduction part.Summarize the human geography in Guangzhou,describe the system of initial,finals and tones,introduce the research status of modem Chinese modal adverbs and Guangzhou dialect modal adverbs.Finally,we clarity the object and method of this study,and illustrate the style and source of corpus.The second part:Describe and analyze twelve modal adverbs of Guangzhou dialect.According to the semantic characterisitics,the Guangzhou dialect modal adverbs are divied into five categories:Affirmative modal adverb“renzhen”and“ji zheng”,inferring modal adverbs“pa qie”and“shi”,emotional modal adverbs“wu tong”and”cheng ri”,evaluated mdal adverbs“wu guai de”denoting unstanding,“heng dian”denoting emphasized,“hao cai“haozai”and“duo de”denoting fortunate.In semantic dimension,referring to Mandarin as a reference,the thesis explores the significance of modal adverbs in Guangzhou dialect.In the syntactic dimension,the thesis discusses the distribution position and syntactic collocation.On the basis of this,we can compare and analyze the adverbs of modal adverbs in Mandarin as far as possible,and highlight the characteristics of the mood adverbs in Guangzhou dialect and reflect the characteristics of the grammatical rules of the dialect.The third part:Analysis of the conjunction and co-occurrence of modal adverbs in Guangzhou dialect.The following three aspects are analyzed from the following aspects:the conjunction of modal adverbs,the conjunction of modal adverbs and other modal adverbs,and the conjunction of modal adverbs and other adverbs.The forth part:The analysis of the pragmatic functions of the modal adverbs in Guangzhou dialect.Modal adverbs in Guangzhou dialect have the expressive function,evaluative function and emphatic function.In connection with text,some modal adverbs in Guangzhou dialect have the functions of table order,table deduction,table commentary,and table conditional function.The fifth part:Conclusion.Summarize the characteristics of modal adverbs in Guangzhou dialect and at the same time,point out the shortage of papers and the direction of future efforts.
