Cyberloafing, referring to a new kind of employee deviant behavior during their works, has become a critical issue to organizational development and management. Thus how to reduce employee cyberloaing has been increasingly emphasized by academics and practitioners.Few previous studies have explored the effect of Chinese contextual and personality factors on employee cyberloafing behavior. This study attempts to explore the predictive effect of self-control dual systems(the impulsive system and the reflective system)on cyberloafing behavior. On the basis of previous studies, the cyberloafing assessments are not suitable for all activities.A self-report instrument, scale for measuring different motivations on cyberloafing has therefore been developed. The results showed that the cyberloafing scale is a 2-dimensional measure(active cyberloafing and passive cyberloafing)with strong internal consistency reliability and good construct validity. In order to accurately understand the self control dual systems how to influence cyberloafiing,261 subjects finished the Dual Mode of Self-Control scale and cyberloafing scale in study 2.The results showed that the impulsive system had a significant positive predictive effect on cyberloafing behavior(?=0.34,p<0.001),and a positive predictive effect on both passive and active cyberlofing behavior(?=0.28,p<0.001;?=0.33,p<0.001).However,the control system has no significant predictive effect on cyberloafing behavior. In order to improve the ecological validity and avoid the social desirability, study 3 was groundbreaking to explore the laboratory research methods of cyberloafing behavior.Study 3 used quasi-experimental design to explore the relationship between self-control and cyberloafing behavior.A total of 68 college students completed the self-control questionary and cyberloafing measurements. One week later, participants watched a study video and answered questions while they were in class. The researchers recorded how long the participants spent cyberloafing on the Internet. The results also show that the impulsive system has a higher explanatory power to the cyberloafing behavior, while the control system has little explanation for the cyberloafing behavior. After controlling gender, age, video boredom and video familiarity, the impulse system ?-0.32,p<0.05)had a positive predictive effect on the cyberloafing behaviour, while the control system had no significant effect on the prediction of cyberloafing. In summary, this study preliminarily proves that the impulsive system and the control system have different effects on the cyberloafing behaviour, and the impulsive system has more influence on the cyberloafing behavior.
