This paper explores the "Shanghai Nostalgia" imagination created by Wong Kar-wai,based on four films including "days of being wild","the mood for love","2046" and "Eros-The hand" directed by him.Based on the overlapping relationship between "Shanghai nostalgia" and "Southern immigration" in Hong Kong, the author analyzes "Shanghai Nostalgia" phenomenon in four nostalgic films constructed by Shanghai immigrants’ living conditions, eating habits, neighborhood relationship and love stories.Under the tide of globalization,Hong Kong’s indigenous culture is deeply impacted. Those fils are not the recurrence of the history of "Old Shanghai" or"Old Hong Kong",but a self-regulation and reconciliation, which symbolizes the collective desire of Hong Kong.In addition to the introduction and conclusion part, the article will be divided into four chapters.Chapter one discusses the origin of Wong Kar-Wai’s nostalgic feeling by exploring the historical background in his film. The article believes that in the context of globalization, immigrants practice in their daily life to maintain the memories of motherland, national consciousness, cultural traditions and identity. As an immigrant, the daily life presented in the film are the reflection of Wong Kar-Wai’s childhood memories so that it’s an important part to interpret the "Nostalgia" in those films.Chapter two explicates the food, restaurant, etiquette and other elements in Wong Kar-Wai’s "Nostalgia in Shanghai" film to explore the allegoric meaning of food in migration,as well as the dining environment and the "localization" behind it.As a result,it further restores his imagination of the "nostalgic Shanghai".Chapter three analyzes the residential space in Wong Kar-Wai’s "Nostalgia in Shanghai" film and interprets the interpersonal space constructed in the film by shaping the living space and neighborhood relationship of "Old Shanghai".It demonstrates the cramped living space suffered by "Southern" people in Hong Kong. And it is different from the life of "Old Shanghai" who are shrewd, skeptical, and have no private space.Ultimately, those differences help created Wong Kar-Wai’s"Latin 60s mood".Chapter four mainly focuses on those love stories under the harsh environment in the 1860s,which made Hong Kong at that time filled with desire and sentiments.
