The Poetics Of Reversal And The Judicable Identity In Friedrich Duerrenmatt's Drama

Friedrich Duerrenmatt(1921-1990)is one of the most prominent dramatists in the circle of German drama in the twentieth century.His drama are peculiar and profound,and they have great influence on contemporary drama.In order to grasp its original poetic wisdom,this thesis attempts to explore the poetics of Duerrenmatt's drama.The author tries to extract the poetic thought of drama which has contemporary significance.During the textual analysis in depth,I have found that Duerrenmatt's drama contain a kind of unique poetic wisdom,namely "the poetics of reversal and the judicable identity".In order to show the connotation and value of this kind of poetics,this article is discussed from three aspects,divided into three parts.The first part analyzes "the poetics of reversal and the judicable identity" in Duerrenmatt's drama and dramatic.The dramatic of Duerrenmatt's drama is closely related to Duerrenmatt's thinking of "the poetics of reversal and the judicable identity".The characters in Duerrenmatt's drama,can be divided into two groups:"the judge"and "the accused person".The protagonist often has both of these identities,in the "accidental event" under the role of identity and action,the fate of multi-level inversion,not only greatly enhancing the theatricality,but also highlighting the theme of the drama through multiple plot twists until the final rendering.The second part analyzes the poetics of re-umpire in the Duerrenmatt's drama and their poetic quality.It's poetic quality is mainly embodied by the "the image of the brave" in the drama.They are sensitive to reflection,dare to mend,the courage to sacrifice and other noble character.In addition,Duerrenmatt's depiction of their character and spirit,his writing of their fate,are to reflect the overall environment of human's survival,bring to light the "the interior individual" and "the exterior world" in between the dilemmas,conflicts and confrontations,and then open the deep and complex inner world of the characters.The author hopes that individuals will overcome their sins and elevate themselves,break the chaotic and reversed evil world and reconstruct the new order,which reveals an upward poetic pursuit.The third part summarizes the basic connotation of the poetics of re-umpire and its revelation significance."The poetics of reversal and the judicable identity" in Duerrenmatt's drama,from the point of view of creation,refers to such a dramatic thinking and artistic wisdom:Dramatist in the concept of the whole play,shaping the characters,first of all,the characters for "sin" and the "trial",but soon reversed,"Judge" and "trial" status changed or even reversed,the entire storyline,The topic expression changes with it.Secondly the "trial" in the drama is not a single level,but a plurality of levels of mutual intercourse,it includes both the reverse self examination of the characters in the time flow and the dramatic mutual examination between the characters in the drama."The poetics of reversal and the judicable identity" not only makes the dramatic and poetic fusion of Durrenmatt's drama,but also makes it has a very profound implication and embodies the superb artistic wisdom of the Durrenmatt.It not only reflects the breadth and depth of Durrenmatt's drama,but also the important embodiment of Durrenmatt's view of drama,worldview and philosophy,which will be of great significance to the contemporary drama research and creation in China.
