Study On Lu Weisun's Freehand Brushwork Of Celadon Landscape Theme Works

This thesis is a special research on the freehand brushwork of Lu Weisun's celadon landscape theme works.The main object of this study focuses on the artist's freehand brushwork origin,the technique and artistic characteristics.Lu Weisun occupies an important position in the innovation of modern Longquan Celadon.As the contemporary Longquan Celadon artisan,Lu does not blindly copy the traditional style,but more importantly,he forms his own creative style by tradition.This thesis holds that Lu's series of twisted placenta,square utensil series and disk series with freehand brushwork of landscape theme are not accidental products but the elevation of his many years of practice and theoretical study.Lu's innovation is to apply skillfully ceramic materials and ceramic technology to express the works of landscape theme,that is,he employs such elements as mud and green glaze to give expression to the trace of Chinese traditional ink and landscape painting,which is expressed in the enshrouding and implication on his series of twisted placenta with landscape theme,the mountain and river landscape on his square objects series,and the creek landscape on his disk series.In a word,the formation of Lu Weisun's artistic expression in the works of celadon with landscape theme is inseparable from his own practice of traditional water-ink landscape painting and the edification of contemporary art in professional art academies.While adhering to the traditional making process and artistic style of Longquan Celadon,he is bold in innovation,combining painting language with ceramic,sculpture and other media.He is the representative of both literati and craftsman.
