BackgroundWith the development of society and the acceleration of people's life and work rhythm, more and more people appear psychological fatigue state, which not only interferes with people's cognitive activities, but also affects people's decision judgment.Risk decision is a decision based on the result of different options and the known probability of the result. The essence of the decision is to weigh and judge the value of the risk option and the conservative option.Although some studies have shown that mental fatigue has an impact on individual decision-making behavior, and frame type plays an important role in risk decision making, there are few researches on the relationship among mental fatigue, frame type and risk decision-making.ObjectivesThe purpose of this study was to explore the effects of mental fatigue and frame type on risk decision-making using event-related potentials.MethodsForty healthy college students were recruited randomly from a university in Henan Province, aged between 18 and 25.This study adopted a mixed design of 2(group:mental fatigue,non-mental fatigue)×2(frame type:positive frame, negative frame). The experimental group(mental fatigue)received mental fatigue induced by Flanker paradigm and then completed the task of risk decision, while the control group(non-mental fatigue),the risk decision task was completed directly after 1.5 hours of free activity.Among them, group is inter-group factor, frame type is intra-group factor. The dependent variable is the individual score in the risk decision task, the behavior index is the individual reaction time and the Adventure rate. The experimental procedure was compiled by E-prime2.0 to present and record the behavior data. The EEG data were recorded and processed by the Neuroscan recording and analysis system using the event-related potentials(ERPs)technique.By using SPSS20.0 software to conduct analysis of variance,EEG data were processed by repeated measurement variance and corrected by Greenhouse-Geisser method.ResultsIn this study, the behavioral data showed that the Adventure rate of individuals in positive frame was significantly higher than that in negative frame[F(1,35)=13.24,P<0.01].ERPs results showed that the interaction of group×Electrode position was significant in P3 amplitude[F(2,66)=3.28,P<0.05].Compared with the non-mental fatigue group, the amplitude of the wave in the parietal area in the group of mental fatigue was significantly higher than that in the central region and the frontal area. The interaction of frame×unilateral was significant[F(2,66)=3.30,P<0.05,?~2=0.21],the simple effect analysis showed that the negative frame induced a larger amplitude than the positive frame in Central electrode. The main effects and interactions Electrode position, unilateral, group, gender and frame were not significant in N2 amplitude.Conclusions(1)Individuals tend to making circumvent options in the positive framework, and tend to making risk options in the negative framework.(2)Compared with non-mental fatigue stimulation, subjects consumed more attention and cognitive resources in the parietal area after fatigue induction.(3)Compared with the positive frame, the subjects in the negative frame consumed more attention and cognitive resources in the Central electrode.
