| Hao Jing-fang is a famous contemporary science fiction novelist,her works have won the prize of Hugo Award,Science Fiction Galaxy Award for Readers,etc.They are not only greatly beautiful and implicit which are deeply loved by readers,but also possess high research value.At present,the research on Hao’s science fiction is mainly based on the aspects of the novel’s theme,content and thought triggered by the works,while the analysis is rarely reported from the perspective of language.In order to have a better interpretation of her works,appreciate the language charm of science fiction,promote the popularization of science fiction as well as provide a basis for the study of the literary works and writers’ styles,this work takes Hao’s published science fiction works as the research object,and combines the theories of cognitive linguistics and psychology,uses statistics,induction,comparison and other methods to systematically describe and analyze them from the perspective of linguistic rhetoric,and strives to show the language styles and features.The first and second Chapter of this dissertation mainly focus on analyzing the language style of Hao’s science fiction.Chapter1 discusses the dominant language style – beautiful and graceful.The main manifestations are – the reduplication is natural and the rhythm is beautiful;the words are rich and the types are diverse;the combination of the long and short sentences as well as the complete and scattered sentences;the use of metaphor,superposition,parallelism and analogy,etc.Chapter 2 mainly discusses the secondary style –euphemistic,which are analyzed mainly from the use of the fuzzy words and antonyms;the questions and euphemism sentences;the skillful use of ream,contrast,transfer and homology;the allegorical narrative description and poetic expression.Chapter 3 explores the causes of the language style of her works from the aspects of life experience,writer’s character,creation pursuit,text selection and national culture.Chapter 4 compares Hao’s works with Liu Cixin’s science fiction novels,which the same as Hugo award winner,and it concludes the difference between the beautiful and elegant style of Jing Fang’s works and the simple and clear style of Liu Cixin;moreover,it analyzes the the causes of the result. |
