Interpreting Practice Report On American Master Class Of 2017 Lanzhou International Piano Festival

This is a practical report based on a piano master class interpreting task conducted by the author at Lanzhou International Piano Festival from July 14 th to 20 th,2017.The author selects one of master class delivered by American Professor Bruce Brubaker from English to Chinese mainly to analyse major problems and offer some solutions according to the scripts recorded with Danial Gile's Effort Model.The paper is composed of a few parts: Part One is the general introduction to the task.Part Two is the task description which generalizes the basic information and background of the task.Part Three,the interpreting process,describes the preparations,the author's interpreting performance,and case analysis based on Danial Gile's Effort Model after interpreting.What's more some advice is provided by the author for the future interpreting learners.The last part shares some experience and implication concluded from the practice report,and the author hopes it can give any reference to other MTI students.Since the paper belongs to the master class of music,it involves a lot of professional knowledge,such as a large number of professional vocabulary and knowledge about the piano performance.Therefore,before the interpreting,the author makes full preparations with different interpreting techniques used during the interpreting process to improve the interpreter's quality and promote effective communication between the speaker and the listeners.At the same time,the author also analyzes the interpreting strategy and combines examples to analyze and discusses each case encountered.Besides,the author elaborates on the problems encountered in this practical activity and combines related theoretical analysis.She hopes to provide some reference for the follow-up related research and also hopes to make a little contribution to the development of interpretation.
