The Rusalka was created by Anton Leopold Dvorak in his late years,which is the most representative and influential work among others of him.The creative theme of the Rusalka is Jaroslav Kowapil's script.This opera was finished by 1900 when Dvorak was one of the leaders of the national music in nineteenth century.During his late years,Dvorak devoted his strong and deep patriotism into every work of his such that the Rusalka is of great nationalism,which makes it one of the most representative national operas.The Moon Song is the most classical aria in the Rusalka.The simple and sincere expression among with the vivid music creation,the relaxation of melody and the colorful orchestration selection of the Moon Song makes it a famous artistic masterpiece with a broad ethnicity.By analyzing the lifetime of Dvorak and the background and style of the creation of the Rusalka via the main story of the Rusalka,this paper separately analyzes the unique style of the music and the beauty of the melody of the Moon Song from the musical structure,the artistic expression and the emotional expression of it.Also,by synthesizing the different performing styles when Sarah Brightman,Anna Nerebeko and Shu-Chen Kuo performed the Moon Song,this paper deeply analyzes these masterpieces in order to discuss how to grasp the style of the work and the emotion of the characters more meticulously and how to portray the characters more accurately such that one can better perform the Moon Song.
