Objective:To investigate the relationship between socioeconomic status and work values of post-90 college students,and to expoler the moderating effect of materialism in this relationship.Methods:750 post-90 college students in Hunan pro'vince were assessed using the Socioeconomic Status Questionnaire,Work Values Scale and Material Values Scale.Results:(1)The five dimensions,arranged in decending order of importance to work values are:external worth,inner worth,family&life,social status,lower working pressure;(2)Signirficant differences in demographic var:iables such as gender,science and origin have been found on some dimensions.(3)Correlation analysis showed that socioeconomic status had significant positive correlations with materialism total points and it's centrality dimension;socioeconomic status had significant positive correlations with inner worth,and negaitive correlations with lower working pressure;Materialism total points and its centrality and happiness dimensions had significant positive correlations with lower working pressure,Materialism total points and it,s three dimensions had significant positive correlations with social status.Materialism total points and it's centrality and success dimensions had significant positive correlations with external worth.There was no significant correlation between other dimensions.(4)Happiness had moderating effect on the relationship between socioeconomic status and inner worth,lower working pressure,family&life.Conclusion:(1)For the post-90 college students,they pay more attention to the salary and welfare and value of self-realization than to the status and pressure;Gender,science and origin have impact on the work values of post-90 college students.Girl pay more attention to external worth,inner worth,family&life;liberal arts student pay more attention to inner worth;rural student pay more attention to lower working pressure;city student pay more attention to inner worth.(2)The higher socioeconomic status of the post-90s college students,the more self worth they attached to;The lower socioeconomic status,the more easy and simple of work they attached to.(3)Happiness could buffer the influence of socioeconomic status on lower working pressure,inner worth,family&life.
