Research On Phonetic Notation And Interpretation For Astronomical And Geographical Categories Of Pianhai Leibian

Pianhai Leibian(??????)is the Ming Dynasty dictionary,a total of 20 volumes,including 39,047 characters.It's been separated into 20 categories by meaning type,each category is divided into several parts,there are total 444 parts.Phonetic notation and interpretation of the book is comprehensive and detailed,it combines a variety of phonetic methods,and the explanation inherit much results of previous dictionaries,but also citing lots of documentary evidence.Pianhai Leibian includes a large number of characters,and there are plenty of variant Chinese characters and rarely used characters,the Kangxi Dictionary(??????)and The Grand Dictionary of Chinese Character(????????)often cite the book to explain some variant and rare characters.At present,there is not much research on the dictionary,so it is of great significance to sort out and study the dictionary.Because of the variety content of the Pianhai Leibian and the fuzzy printing,so we only select the astronomical and geographical categories to study on.This paper is divided into six chapters:the first chapter is the introduction,described mainly on the basic situation of the Pianhai Leibian,status and significance of the research,it represent the object and the main study methods of the research.The second is about the style and feature of phonetic notation and interpretation of the dictionary.The third chapter is on the citation in these two categories,mainly on the sources?functions and mistakes of it.The fourth chapter compares the two categories in Pianhai Leibian with the corresponding contents in The Grand Dictionary of Chinese Characters.In the fifth chapter,the article classifies the errors in the two categories of the Pianhai Leibian,and analyzes the causes.The last chapter is to rectify the faulty items in these two categories of the Pianhai Leibian,and making a textual explanation to the difficult items.In a word,this paper is based on the astronomical and geographical categories of Pianhai Leibian,then,reorganize it,and correct and explain the false and difficult items.We are in order to provide some references for the perfection of the Pianhai Leibian and the revision of modern dictionaries,such as The Grand Dictionary of Chinese Characters.
