Characteristics Of Emotional Responses To Different Types Of Punishment In Children With ODD

By manipulating different punishment types,the sensitivity of children with ODD to different punishments and the characteristics of emotional responses in different punishment situations were investigated by using the paradigm of priming situation and emotion recognition.In the first part,by setting different types of parental punishment(corporal punishment,criticism,apathy)and causes(self reasons,other reasons),participants were asked to identify "angry" and "fear" emotional faces under different parental punishments.The results showed that odd was mainly angry and less sensitive to criticism under parental punishment.In the second part,by setting different types of peer punishment(corporal punishment,criticism,apathy)and causes(self reasons,other reasons),participants were asked to recognize the emotional faces of "anger" and "fear" under different peer punishment.The results showed that children were less sensitive to peer punishment than the control group.All the children faced with different types of peer punishment were mainly angry,but odd children were more sensitive to fear and apathy.The third part sets different types of punishment(corporal punishment,criticism,apathy)and causes(their own reasons).For other reasons,there was no significant difference between the children and the control group in identifying "anger" and "fear" emotional faces under different teachers' punishment.According to the experimental results and analysis,it is concluded that the children of odd have different sensitivities and different emotional reaction characteristics under different punishment objects,causes and types of punishment.
