Hu Jue is one of the four greatest seal-cutting talents in the late Qing Dynasty.Qin-Han seal plays the central role in his seal-cutting art which also covers other factors.Thus,the personal art style is established.At present,research on Hujue Seal-cutting Art is not systematical but less scanty than that on the seal-cutting inscription literature.According to above points,This paper tries to carries out comprehensive analysis of Hujue Seal-cutting Art.This paper consists of five parts: the first part gives a general description of Hujue Seal-cutting Art which mainly follows Guxi seal,Zhepai seal and Jijin characters;the second part discovers Hujue Seal-cutting Art has a austere Guxi seal style,a ruddy Qin-Han seal style and a virile and righteous Zhepai style and so on;the third part is a summary and study of seal-cutting inscription literature,discovering the idea of Hujue seal involves the worship of ancient classic and seeking sigillography out of the seal;the fourth part is a description of Hujue bamboo carving,wood carving and inscriptions,analyzes their influences on Hujue seal cutting;the fifth part involves the influence of Hujue Seal-cutting Art on later ages and the limits of the art.The research above mentioned shows readers more comprehensive and more detailed Hujue Seal-cutting Art,and it also perfects the seal-cutting history's conception of Hujue Seal-cutting Art.
